These are always great sessions with lots of fab pictures. Yes, they are shorter, but the quality of the images are the same, and the kids (and husbands?) haven’t got time to get bored…

Thoughts on back to school pictures…. I’ve shared some of this before but it’s that season again….

1. We take the pictures a few days prior to the actual first day. It’s less stress on the morning and less stress on the kids. And you can be more playful, add some personally and stories, beyond the boring door step picture.

2. Get the details too, especially if you have young kids just starting reception. Include the shoes, school bag, lunch bag, capture they current handwriting/drawings. If they are going to secondary maybe capture them learning how to do their tie?

3. If you do insist on taking the picture on the day, be mindful of your kids! If YOU have caused/mismanaged the morning to be rushed, then don’t add that time pressure/stress onto your kids because YOU want the picture 😉

4. If you only got bad pictures of your kids, eyes closed, dodgy expression… just unflattering, do you REALLY need to post it on social? Could you in fact just keep it as a private memory, just message it to the grandparents?

4B. Do you ask them before posting their picture if they are older?

In my opinion, us parents are not helping our kids feel happy and comfortable in front of our cameras… we are part of the reason why they are becoming reluctant to be photographed as they get older… we can’t blame it all on them being “teens”…

I share pictures of our boys all the time, I don’t think it’s a problem to put kids on social, but I do think we need to do more mindful of how/why we do it!

This is from quite a few years ago, that play house is long gone and overall it is a really sweet memory for me. Yes, of course, I also got a “boring” uniform picture too…

Er der mon en flot familien med minimum to dejlige boern i alder 2-10 aar som kunne taenke sig at komme og vaere modeller pa Fur? En familie som er lidt ok og afslappet foran kameraet, yes, mor og far er ogsaa med 😉

I faar billeder og film uden omkostning, men i skal samarbejde med mig om garderobe inden dagen. Det bliver Loerdag d. 12 Oktober, nok hen lidt sidst paa eftermiddagen.
